As you continue to research for your novel project, remember that good note making is one of the best ways to help you avoid unintentionally plagiarizing.

There are three important skills to use when taking notes. And I am expecting to see all three in your notes.

Quotations, Paraphrases, Summaries

What does reconciliation mean to you?

Course summative work:

Evidence of Learning Document: Final Edition 2016—Due June 17

Incorporates the four threads of the course:

  1. #craftreconciliation (has its own rubric)
  2. literature reading, notes, and conversations
  3. research and report writing
  4. thinking and reflecting on your skills and strategies for learning

Novel Research Report—Due June 22

Exam—June 27

Self-Assessing feedback: Now what?

Once you all of the thinking about your learning completed on your Evidence of Learning document, review it. Ask yourself:

Do I have evidence of learning for each overall expectation?

What does the evidence say about where I am in my learning?

Does it show that I have broad-based expertise in each of the 4 categories: Oral communication, Reading, Writing, Media Studies? Level 4

Does it show that I have considerable skill across the 4 categories: Oral communication, Reading, Writing, Media Studies? Level 3

Does it show that I have some areas of strength, but that in some of the 4 areas I still have some confusion and/or struggle? Level 2

Does it show that I have confusion/struggle in many areas of the course? Level 1

Now, within that level decide on a percentage mark.

You may feel that there is overlap between this thinking and the reflective blog/Sesame post that you need to write for your evidence of learning document. There likely is. That reflection on your listening/speaking, reading, writing, and production of media text skills/use of strategies will likely clarify for you the level at which you are currently working.

Learning Goals:
I am learning to
provide evidence of my own learning that relates to the inquiry process.

Begin by gathering all of your work – your folder, notebook, and online work (Google Drive, D2L, Goodreads, Hightail, Sesame).

Today, you will gather the evidence of your learning from throughout the #CraftReconciliation project.  Using the document #CraftReconciliation Inquiry Rubric, attach your work (images, links, screenshots). You should have at least one piece of evidence per category, but you can include more than one piece of evidence if you would like.
